Porcupine, wildlife photo.

Yup, this is a blur! This porcupine was traveling away from me as fast as he could go, I was running along beside him trying to take photos as he went. I was afraid he'd get away from me, and this would be all I'd get!

Order # DSC_3805
But I knew from experience when I was a kid, a porcupine doesn't run very far without getting tired. I hoped he'd stop before long to take a good look at me. That is what he finally did in the bottom photo. He was a very kind porcupine, he didn't try to swat at me with his tail, he just sat and looked at me as he caught his breath.

Remember this photo has been made into a smaller file to post here, the actual photo is large and clear.

It's kind of crazy, but so long as a porcupine isn't filling my dog or horse's nose with quills, I kind of like them. They're very peaceful little animals. They actually have the cutest faces...Just don't get to close to them.

Coyote on a round bale, Wildlife photo.

This is what happens when you need the $10,000 lens for your camera! You see the neatest things, and can't quite capture them.

We were driving to visit my parents when Robert spotted a coyote laying on top of a round bale. He was a quarter mile away from where I was, but I tried taking photos anyway. I've enhanced this and sharpened it to death, but at least you can see the coyote.

It isn't a good reference photo but it does give you an idea of the things wildlife are capable of! They're quite funny when you're out there watching for them.

Photos of birds of prey, hawk and golden eagle.

Order #DSC_3355
This eagle looks especially fierce in the large photo! His eye is clear and mean looking, in reality, he was just studying me like I was studying him!

Here are some birds of prey for you to paint! The original photos are large and clear, I've reduced them for posting here on my blog.

This hawk flew alongside us for a long way, he was looking me over as I looked through my camera lens at him. It always amazes me to learn the animals are as curious about us as we are about them.

Reference photos of a jumping chipmunk.

Can you see the chipmunk? He's hiding under the leaves!

This is a jumping chipmunk! He ran and played along the hillside as we watched. He stopped to dig in the dirt and rub his head in it, he jumped from rock to rock and put on a show for us! If you'd like to create a painting with a chipmunk in it, this one would make a great subject. He was fat and sleek!

Camel photos for reference to artists.

This is the camel who was giving rides to people during the Montana State fair. She was in a large round pen by herself. When I walked up, she was laying down, resting.

She wanted to keep resting, so she tried to threaten me away with her gurning faces! See gurning here-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVDND_WIqJs

You could tell she wasn't about to get up, so I didn't worry, in spite of her monster faces...

She finally shut her mouth, decided I wasn't going to bug her, or ask for a ride, so she went back to resting. Camels have got to be the funniest creatures ever.

Have you ever watched the movie, the Weeping Camel? It's wonderful. We met the man who furnished some of the camels for that movie. When this man was seven years old, his father asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up? The man, who was a little boy, then, replied, "I''m going to raise camels." He loved them when he was small, and he actually grew up and raised camels. Now he puts them in the movies!

He doesn't live far from us and we've met his camels. They're very nice. The people and the camels!

Vintage car photos. Shiny reflections photo.

Order # DSC_2090

We attended a car show, I like looking at the old cars, but most interesting to me, is the way the shiny surfaces interact with each other.

These photos have been turned to low resolution for the blog, the actual photos are very bright, clear and full of color and reflection. If you like to paint shiny reflections, you'll love what you can create from this photo.

Order # DSC_2099
In this photo, the purple car is reflected three times into the black of this car, once on the side, once on the fender and once near the running board area. I loved the way the purple car looked like it was going to split, and go off in two different directions.

I get so excited over capturing images with my camera. In a normal day, the normal person takes in thousands of beautiful sights. But without a camera in hand, those images are lost forever. With the event of digital cameras, the world we know today is being recorded more accurately than at any time in history!

For you to have interesting images, a little out of the norm, my camera is an extension of my hand. When a wonderful image comes to my eyes, if I don't have my camera, you don't have the image.... So my camera goes with me, even when I go out to pet the donkeys!

Wait until you see the photos from the state fair! The animals were wonderful. The camel was silly, the white tigers were regal, and the goats ....well, goats like to be goats! There will be some good abstract images also.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find some of the images intriguing.
